There are many walking sites covering the north of England. This one is all about the south. Much of the south and south-east of the country is downland; so most of the walks are on chalk. The exception is the Two Moors Way, which crosses the sandstone and granite of Exmoor and Dartmoor. Some routes are popular national trails, such as the South Downs Way. Others I planned myself, linking various places together with bits of trails when they happened to run in the right direction.
